CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Hundreds of Republicans rallied in Cedar Rapids for Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson’s annual BBQ Bash.

For many Republicans, Congresswoman Ashley Hinson’s 5th annual BBQ Bash rally and fundraiser was a victory lap, applauding actions taken by the Trump Administration.

“We are restoring common sense and we are stopping at nothing to close the southern border and deport illegal aliens out of our country,” Hinson said.

However, much of the rally Saturday was spent looking ahead to the 2026 midterm elections.

Governor Kim Reynolds’ seat will be up for grabs and Republican speakers emphasized needing a strong turnout to prevent the Democratic party from taking control of Congress.
