Geddes, N.Y. — Fairgoers heading to the New York State Fair on Sunday may want to arrive early and keep the rain gear close.
Temperatures will still be warm with a high of 81 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through the morning and early afternoon.
By mid-afternoon, steadier rain is expected to move in, with a higher chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Overnight, temperatures will drop to around 60 degrees.
Fairgoers planning to stick around for concerts, rides or food should be ready for soggy conditions. Having an umbrella and rain jacket in hand might make the wet day more enjoyable.
