Following the July 1 fireworks warehouse facility explosions that killed seven people in the Esparto area of Yolo County, California, state officials on Friday said they have revoked the pyrotechnics licenses for the two companies and their owners, which operated at the site. Officials also said they recently cleared the property of any fireworks that did not explode.

Cal Fire's state fire marshal has been the lead investigator, looking into what caused the deadly blasts and if all regulations had been followed. In a news release, Cal Fire said that Devastating Pyrotechnics and Blackstar Fireworks had violated state fireworks laws and regulations.
