GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A western Kentucky community will gather for prayer after a shooting near a high school football game.

According to a Facebook post from the Graves County Sheriff’s Office , a community prayer gathering starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 24.

It will be at the Mayfield-Graves County Fairgrounds.

On Friday night, during a high school football game, gunshots were heard during the fourth quarter.

Police say the shooting happened in a parking area adjacent to the War Memorial football stadium.

They say one adult was injured and taken to an area hospital. The victim was later airlifted to an out-of-state hospital.
