Monsoonal moisture is bringing storm chances and flooding concerns to western Nevada and the Sierra on Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. Saturday for parts of western Nevada — including the Reno-Carson-Minden area, Mineral County and southern Lyon County — and for Mono County in California.

Storms developed in the Sierra earlier Saturday and in western Nevada, with forecasters warning of frequent lightning, gusty winds, small hail and possible flooding through the middle of next week.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect until Sunday morning, with the hottest conditions in lower desert areas such as the Black Rock Desert, where Burning Man is set to begin as gates open tonight. Rain chances on the playa were l
