TALLASSEE, Ala. ( WSFA ) - The suspect who was injured in a Friday afternoon officer-involved shooting in Tallassee is being identified.

Adam Davis, 38, is being treated at a Georgia hospital after being airlifted from the 2900 block of Notasulga Road in Tallassee, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Tallassee police requested ALEA take over the investigation, and special agents with ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation have taken the lead.

Investigators determined that TPD officers responded to Notasulga Road around 3:05 p.m. on a domestic violence call.

During the course of the incident, ALEA says Davis, who was armed, fired his weapon, prompting officers to return fire. No officers were injured.
