ZAVALLA, Texas — The Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department received help Saturday from multiple nearby fire departments as its crews battled a large fire amid the city's water issues.

Crews from the Fuller Springs Fire Department, the City of Huntington Fire Department, and Moffett Fire Department came together to assist with Zavalla VFD with a fire that engulfed multiple vehicles and an old trailer house that was demolished and piled up. A nearby structure was also in immediate danger.

Because of the water problems that the city of Zavalla is facing, the fire department is not able to use the city water supply to refill its tanks, the ZVFD said in a Facebook post. That's when the other fire departments stepped to help.
