BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - One juvenile was killed and another was injured in a Birmingham shooting Saturday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to a report of a traffic accident the 1000 block of Huffman Road just after 4 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a juvenile lying unresponsive outside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim dead.

Police say the second person shot, who is also a juvenile, was taken to UAB Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

According to authorities, investigations have revealed that there were potentially multiple people who met up at the location of the shooting for an unknown reason before shots were fired.
