A West Adams neighborhood was on lockdown Saturday following a SWAT operation in the area, authorities said.

The SWAT operation was being conducted in the area of 23rd and Arlington Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Details on the operation were not immediately available.

Newschopper4 was over the active scene where a tactical vehicle and several police squad cars were spotted outside a residence.

The area is expected to be closed for several hours as the investigation continues, LAPD said.
