Jared Triolo has always been known best for what does in the field. But as of late, it’s his bat that seems to be making more noise.
Entering Saturday’s contest, Triolo was slashing .327/.400/.490 in his past 15 games. His success at the dish continued against the Rockies which paved the way for a 5-1 Pirates win at PNC Park.
Triolo’s big day started in the bottom of the third inning when he tagged Rockies starter Kyle Freeland, the game’s losing pitcher, for a two-run homer to left-center field. The long ball was preceded by a two-run blast from Andrew McCutchen the inning prior.
