WAVERLY, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Saturday, a candlelight vigil was held to honor the 20 lives lost during devastating flooding in 2021.

In August 2021, 20 people lost their lives to flooding in Humphreys County — 19 in Waverly and one in Hurricane Mills. Between nine and 17 inches of rain fell in Middle Tennessee within 24 hours that morning, which caught many residents off-guard.
