GUTHRIE COUNTY, Iowa —

The Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency says authorities from multiple agencies recovered a body from Diamondhead Lake on Saturday night.

According to authorities, the Stuart Fire Department was called at around 4:40 p.m. to the lake located in Penn Township, just northwest of Dexter. The Adair and Guthrie County EMA coordinator says the call was for a 35-year-old swimmer who went under the water and never resurfaced.

The Midwest Regional Dive Team arrived to assist with the search. Authorities say just after 7:45 p.m., the dive team located the body, which was recovered around 8:10 p.m.

At this time, the identity of the swimmer has not been released.
