OMAHA, Neb. —
Hundreds of residents lined the streets for this year's Millard Days Parade in Omaha, where children waved to a convoy of cars, scooters, and some unique vehicles.
Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. attended the event, marking his first Millard Days as mayor.
"It's a great part of our community and an opportunity just to shake a few hands, do a little high fiving and hand out some candy to the young people," Ewing said.
Children expressed their excitement about the parade, highlighting the dances and candy being passed out.
The parade featured motorcycles, classic rock from the Shrine Bowl bus, and performances by the Millard Public Schools marching band.
Among the participants was the Douglas County Sheriff's Office newest recruit, Deputy Kitty the patrol goat.
