On Friday, the Roswell Coyotes football team hosted the Los Lunas Tigers as the season opener for both teams at the Wool Bowl.
The Coyotes enter this game after finishing last year with an 11-1 record, and they were crowned Class 5A state champions for football. The Tigers last season finished with an 8-3 record and were invited to the Class 6A playoffs, where they lost in the quarterfinals to Cleveland.
In the first quarter, the Coyotes would get the ball first. Both teams would have drives that ended in punts before the Coyotes went on a 52-yard touchdown drive that was capped off by a 32-yard touchdown throw from quarterback Luke Lynn (17) to wide receiver Noah Estrada (14), making the score 7-0. The Tigers would have the ball when the quarter ended.
