Firefighters in East Lothian were called to a blaze that broke out in a field on Saturday evening.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received the initial call at around 6.50pm on August 23. By 11.30am on Sunday morning, they remain at the scene.

Three appliances were dispatched to tackle the fire. According to locals , the blaze just off FIshersgate Road as you leave Cockenzie, was 'growing so fast'.

It's understood that no injuries have been sustained in the blaze.

A spokesperson for the SFRS told us: "We are in attendance of a fire near Cockenzie this morning.

"We received the initial call at around 6.50pm on Saturday night. Three appliances were dispatched."

Lisa Sked, a local resident, told us: "Absolutely awful! It was growing so fast!"
