MAYFIELD, Ky. (WSIL) -- The Graves County Sheriff's Office announced a prayer gathering scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Mayfield-Graves County Fairgrounds. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

This gathering follows a shooting incident which occurred during a football game on Friday night. The Mayfield Police Department reported one adult victim was injured in the shooting. The victim was initially treated at Jackson Purchase Medical Center before being flown to Nashville for further care.

Detectives are actively gathering evidence and processing the scene. The Mayfield Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police, the Graves County Sheriff's Office, Mayfield EMS, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
