At 6:25 a.m. Saturday morning, Troy Cook and his wife abruptly awoke to a loud crashing sound and a violent shaking when a car crashed into their home at 6750 Road 38 in Verona.
In an interview at his home later that day, Cook said he went outside to see what had happened and found parts of his front porch in the middle of the street.

“There were a bunch of car alarms going off and the five six-by-six posts that held up the overhang on my front porch were destroyed. Some of it was lying in the road.” Cook said. “The car that did it was in the middle of the road as well. The driver was nowhere to be found.”
According to Cook, he called the police but officers arrived just seconds after his phone call.
“Other people, my neighbours, were on the street taking pictures.
