Only days away, when Hospice Niagara opens Maison Walker | Walker House in Welland, it will belong to the community.
“We provide the service, but the community wraps its arms around Hospice Niagara and takes care of this organization,” said Carol Nagy, Hospice Niagara’s executive director.
“We become part of a larger family system for everybody.”
Nagy and director of care Tanis Laramee spoke about the 10-bed facility built into Foyer Richelieu ’s new 9,755-square-metre, 128-bed long-term-care home during a recent media tour.
Hospice Niagara is on the first floor in the northwest corner of the new build , and has a private entrance off Promenade Richelieu.
