Authorities investigating unattended death outside a Mass. hospital

Authorities in Weymouth are investigating the unattended death of a man found Saturday afternoon inside a car parked outside a hospital.

Police went to South Shore Hospital at 55 Fogg Road at about 2 p.m. and began the investigation, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The man’s identity was not released. Authorities are notifying the next of kin.

The Massachusetts Crime Scene Services Section also assisted with the response to the hospital, the district attorney’s office said.

An autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is scheduled to be performed on Sunday to determine the cause and manner of death.
