For the four daughters of Sam Valenti, Bommarito Bakery has always been home.

“We grew up in this business,” said Christina Corrado. “I’ve always worked here even when I had another job.”

Corrado and her sisters Rose Valenti and Grace Adams still work regular shifts at the iconic bakery. Their sibling Fran Cottone helps out at holidays and as needed. Some of the 30-somethings working the counter, making subs and boxing cookies and cannoli have worked at Bommarito in some capacity since high school.

“All of our kids have worked here over the years, and everyone who works here is family to us,” said Corrado. “We have a great group of people here.”

Many of the customers have become like family too.
