Jackie Reau said she had her “aha moment” at age 30 while living in Cincinnati, where she knew she wanted to settle down and make a home for herself.

The West Toledo native and 1988 Central Catholic High School graduate enjoyed doing public relations in the health care industry for the Christ Hospital and, after that, for the Cincinnati Art Museum.

But she was especially fond of sports, going back to her days as a player on the Central Catholic girls varsity basketball teams led by coach Chris Tuttle, including one that competed in the 1987 state championships.

Her “aha moment”?

It occurred on July 1, 2002, while she was having dinner with former ESPN anchor Betsy Ross.
