Firefighters from the Grayslake Fire Protection District saved two dogs from a burning home Saturday night, officials said.

Crews called to the home on the 33000 block of North Sears Boulevard at about 10:13 p.m. arrived to find a blaze in an attached garage, with fire also on the north side of the house and a vehicle in the driveway, according to the fire district.

While one team worked to put out the fire, another searched the home and rescued two dogs inside, fire officials said. The home’s residents were not home when fire broke out.

Grayslake requested help through a MABAS Box Alarm, and 10 other fire companies arrived to extinguish the fire on the first floor of the home.
