Our major supermarkets all have cafes to accompany them - but how do they stack up?

I visited four of the largest UK supermarket chain cafes to determine the best one, focusing on key factors such as value for money, cleanliness, suitability for children and the quality of the food and drinks.

I ventured to Asda, M&S, Morrison's and Tesco. All of them surprised me, one for the wrong reasons.

I was probably about 12 years old when I last dined in a supermarket cafe and I would have opted for a hot chocolate with all the trimmings and a ham and cheese toastie. This was back when the top offerings were a jacket potato, or a pot of tea and a scone.
