An investigation is underway in Miami-Dade on Sunday after a truck collided with a motorcycle, killing one person, troopers said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two people were on board the motorcycle that was heading South on Krome Avenue, while a Chevy pickup was attempting to turn left into the entrance of 500 SW 177th Avenue.

Troopers said that when the truck tried to turn, it drove into the path of the motorcycle and collided with it.

The two on the motorcycle were ejected, and the passenger, a woman, died at the scene, while the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

It is unclear if the driver of the truck was injured.

Troopers have since shut down Southbound Krome Avenue.
