A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured when the car they were in struck a tree in Raynham, Massachusetts, on Sunday night.

Police say they received a 911 call around 8:12 p.m. for a report of an erratic driver in the area of South Street West, and shortly after received reports that a motor vehicle had hit a tree on that street.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead on scene, police said. His passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.

Neither person's name has been released at this time. Police also haven't shared any further information about the alleged erratic driving that preceded the fatal crash.
