A teacher who conned Asda out of nearly £3,000 worth of groceries by exploiting a discount code that slashed items to just 1p has escaped a teaching ban.
Kirsti Reynolds repeatedly abused an Asda self-service till glitch during February and March 2023, applying a rotisserie chicken reduction code to her entire shopping basket.
Across several trips, she accumulated £1,030.77 worth of goods from one branch and £1,700 from another.

She pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court and received a 12-month community order, plus an instruction to compensate the supermarket chain.
