PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University (WSU) police responded to a call about a reported gun in a hotel room near campus on Sunday around 6:37 a.m.

According to a social media post from WSU police, a man called his mother from the Courtyard by Marriott Pullman hotel stating that someone was in his room with a gun, and instructed her to call the police.

When police arrived, only one man was present in the room, who was detained after reportedly resisting arrest.

No gun was found inside the room, WSU police said.

WSU police said that the man found was not associated with the university. He was brought to Pullman Regional Hospital for treatment.
