APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - One person was treated for burns and smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire at an Appleton home caused roughly $30,000 in estimated damages.
According to the Appleton Fire Department, crews responded around 4:05 a.m. on August 24 to the 1100 block of West Summer Street in Appleton.
The initial call reported the fire was in the kitchen, and when crews arrived, they were met with smoke at the front door.
It was noted that all of the home's occupants evacuated before crews arrived.
The fire was brought under control within five minutes, and one person was treated and taken to a local hospital for burns and smoke inhalation.
Damage to the building and contents is estimated to be $30,000.
