Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Acton, authorities said.

The crash occurred at about 8:25 a.m. Sunday on Mount Emma Road, just east of Angeles Forest Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident involved a white Toyota Corolla and a gray sedan, the CHP said.

The involved vehicles were located in a nearby ravine, with the two bodies inside one vehicle, the CHP added. The second vehicle was unoccupied.

At 9:42 a.m., the agency closed 47th Street East at Mount Emma Road, and Mount Emma Road at Angeles Forest Highway, for an unknown duration.

No further information was immediately available.
