ALPHARETTA -- In Denmark's home opener against River Ridge, the coaching adage, "Whoever has the fewest turnovers wins the game" proved to be all too true.
With a total of six turnovers in the non-region matchup, Denmark bore the brunt, committing four of them. As a result, the Danes fell short, suffering a 17-7 defeat.
It was not only the turnover issue. The Danes (0-2) committed penalties that tired out their defense on the first series, as the Knights (2-0) put together an offensive drive that lasted 8 minutes, 17 seconds.
