TULIA, Texas (KFDA) - The Tulia Hornets are ready to be back under the lights, but their head football coach, Fred Jordan, instills the idea that life is bigger than the game in his athletes.

Jordan’s impact in just one year at Tulia is seen by many.

“I love Coach Jordan,” said sophomore Manuel Hernandez, Jr. “He’s been a real chill coach, but he does his job right.”

Senior Logan Becerra adds on to Hernandez’s point.

“My whole years I’ve had all different coaches...head coaches...and they’ve led us to the same Tulia,” he said. “Whenever [Jordan] took this job, a lot of people didn’t really believe in him. But, he took us to the playoffs. He made us a way better team.”

Jordan knows it’s all about the hard work now and getting it done the right way before the season begins.
