KINGSTON, N.Y. — Bobby Bode makes the trip from New York City every weekend to play golf at the Twaalfskill Club. He hadn’t been a member anywhere until he joined the Kingston private club after finishing second in the club’s member-guest earlier this season.
Bode made his first start in the men’s club championship an auspicious debut by knocking off two-time Ulster County Men’s Amateur Golf Championship (The Herdegen) winner Jared Miller, 2 and 1, in the 36-hole final on Sunday, Aug. 24.
At the same time, Scott Dean went on a late birdie blitz to capture his second men’s club title at the Woodstock Golf Club with a 6 and 5 victory over Brian Williams.
Bode, who was a college teammate of current PGA Tour player Eric Cole at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., led 2-up
