In news that may serve as little surprise to tuned-in fans of the Buffalo Bills, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips is “expected to be signed to the Bills’ 53-man roster, NOT the practice squad, later this week,” per reporter Ryan Talbot and other tuned-in sources. If true, that could mean another defensive tackle’s roster spot is hanging in the balance.

Phillips, now 32, is a known commodity at defensive tackle, and he’s always played his best football as a member of the Bills. Should Phillips sign, it would be his fourth return to the team — and was the only move he had eyes for all along, saying it was Buffalo or retirement in 2025.

ESPN Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg shared a post showing what appears to be Phillips’ intended locker space, and a new number (52) for “Big Phil.”
