BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — The Second Annual Pedal for Paws fundraiser took place at American Legion Post 77 in Belvidere on Sunday, aiming to raise money for Boone County Animal Services.

The event, which involves both bicyclists and motorcyclists, seeks to surpass the $1,000 raised during its inaugural year. Organizers are optimistic about increasing donations this year.

"We had a good response from the community," said organizer Andy McManus, expressing gratitude for the local support.

Last year's event successfully raised over $1,000, and this year, organizers are hopeful to raise even more.

Organizers plan to continue making Pedal for Paws an annual event, with hopes of growing its impact and support for the animal shelter each year.
