EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -People in East Lansing welcomed back college students on Saturday by holding the annual East Lansing Etravagrandza.

The extravagrandza is an event that allows college students to get to know others while also letting them get the chance to know what all downtown East Lansing has to offer.

Matt Apostle, who’s a Community and Economic Development specialist for the city of East Lansing, talked about how the Extravagrandza helps the students adjust for the upcoming school year.

“So the first time we did this event was actually in 2021, and it was to kind of reintroduce students to downtown because there had been a couple of years there where students either weren’t in East Lansing or weren’t necessarily going downtown and patroning the businesses due to COVID-19
