One person was killed after a motorcycle and SUV collided Sunday in northeast Lincoln, police say.

Just before 5:30 p.m., first responders were called to the intersection of North 90th and Adams streets on a report of the crash, according to a news release.

Police believe a motorcycle was heading east on Adams Street and the SUV was turning onto Adams when the vehicles collided.

Paramedics rendered aid to the 21-year-old rider of the motorcyclist, who was pronounced dead.

The identity and gender of the motorcyclist was not immediately made available.

Police believe speed was a factor. A drug recognition expert from the Lincoln Police Department evaluated the driver of the SUV, but no impairment was suspected, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.
