AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Paine College celebrated the induction of 100 high school girls into the Debutante Club on Sunday.

The Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club was started in 1963 when Rosa Beard started mentoring African American girls in Augusta.

Now, the club is being run by her daughter.

Each year, high school girls are inducted into the club and engage with community service as well as mentoring other young ladies.
