TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida A&M football has announced its starting quarterback for their season opener at the Orange Blossom Classic in Miami. RJ Johnson, the redshirt sophomore, will get the nod after he beat out four other hopefuls for the job.
Johnson is a transfer from Toledo where he didn’t play a single snap in two seasons. He played his high school ball in Atlanta at Westlake high school, throwing for over 9,000 yards and 79 touchdowns in four seasons.
Rattlers head coach James Colzie III did tell WCTV on Saturday that both Johnson and Jett Peddy will take snaps for the Rattlers in game one against Howard, but it’s Johnson who will get the start.
