A person was taken into custody after a man was stabbed during a fight on Sunday evening in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, police stated.

The stabbing was reported at approximately 5:56 p.m. in the 2400 block of East 75th Street. According to police, a 36-year-old man pulled out a knife during a fight and stabbed a 45-year-old man.

The victim sustained a stab wound to the left side of his body and was hospitalized in serious condition. The suspect was taken into custody by police, and a weapon was recovered on the scene, authorities said.
