DESOTO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A person is dead following a DeSoto Parish deputy-involved shooting.

On August 24, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) was contacted at 3:30 p.m. and asked to investigate a deputy-involved shooting involving the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened on Interstate 49 near Louisiana Highway 509.

Detectives are working to process the scene and gather information.

One person was shot and has been pronounced dead. No deputies were harmed during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing. Updates will come as more information becomes available.
