EPWORTH, Iowa (KCRG) - You probably already know Q’s story.
That’s Quentin Nauman, who’s first initial is a household name in prep track and field.
Nauman had an improbable junior year, winning multiple state titles, and setting multiple state records in cross country and track and field. At the state meet, he became the first high school athlete in American history to run a sub-two minute 800m and sub four-minute 1600m in the same meet.
But behind every great athlete is a great coach. Nauman has one of the best.
Her name is Elaina Biechler, and she isn’t afraid to admit it: she’s a nerd.
“Yes, absolutely, I’m a total running nerd,” said Biechler.
The W.D. assistant track and cross country coach knows her stuff. She’s got a PhD to prove it.
