BLAINE COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Affordable housing is an issue facing Idaho, and Blaine County wants to hear from county residents about what issues they’re facing.
“Overall, countywide we’ve been seeing over the years is a reduction of available housing stock to those living and working in the community while at the same time there’s been a drastic rise in cost,” Blaine County Housing Authority Spokesperson Daniel Hansen said.
The price of housing is a major issue. It’s gotten to where cities like Ketchum have tried to take steps to preserve current long term rental properties.
Hansen said a variety of factors contribute to a lack of affordable housing in the county.
