SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - A nationally known comedian was shot and killed in Southaven on Wednesday night.

Police have identified the man as Reginald Carroll of Maryland.

Southaven Police Department (SPD) said officers responded to the area of Burton Lane for an "isolated shooting."

Carroll was taken to Regional One Health but died hours later from his injuries, police said.

SPD said a man is in custody and charged with the murder.

Southaven Police said information is limited due to this being an active investigation.
