The death of a person who was hit by a in Stockton on Sunday morning is under investigation, according to Union Pacific.

Union Pacific said one of its train crews reported a trespasser on the tracks near the 1200 block of Aurora Street around 8 a.m.

The Stockton Police Department said officers responded to the location and found a male who had been hit by the train. He was pronounced dead on scene.

It is unclear why the person was on the tracks at the time.
