SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Temperatures will drop a few degrees each day as our warm weather system weakens and shifts east.

Monday will still be warm but a little more bearable, with valley highs climbing into the mid-90s. In the foothills, a storm is possible, with highs also reaching the mid-90s. The Sierra will see another stormy day, with highs in the upper 70s.

Monsoon moisture continues to linger in the Sierra, fueling afternoon thunderstorms. Small hail and gusty winds are possible, along with periods of heavy downpours that could lead to flash flooding.

As high pressure moves east, a weak area of low pressure will approach the West Coast. As it slowly moves onshore Tuesday and Wednesday, it will provide additional lift to the Sierra’s existing surface moisture. As this moisture rise
