TEMECULA, Calif. (CNS) -- Four people were killed and two others suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the 15 Freeway in Temecula, authorities said Sunday.
The crash was reported around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the southbound freeway north of Winchester Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said a BMW was being driven recklessly in the freeway's northbound lanes and veered to the left, traveling over the concrete median wall into the southbound lanes of I-15 until it came directly into the path of a white Nissan Sentra.
The front of the Nissan crashed into the right side of the BMW, which caught fire and became fully engulfed, the CHP said.
The BMW's 25-year-old driver was pulled from the driver's seat by good Samaritans, but he sustained major injuries
