PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A former fire lieutenant with the Kingston Fire District has died.

Michael Terrio died on Friday in a car crash.

He was working for the Guilford, Connecticut fire department.

The department said he died at an area hospital from his injuries.

The Kingston Fire Department said Terrio was also a United States veteran, and sent their condolences to his family, friends and second family at his fire department.
