WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Butler Hospital SEIU 1199NE union members began their return to work Sunday, according to a joint statement from Butler Hospital and SEIU 1199NE.
“This is an important step toward the full restoration of all services that thousands of patients rely on at Butler Hospital each year,” said the joint statement.
“We look forward to working together to strengthen our hospital’s ability to meet the needs of its patients, employees, and the entire community while advancing the vital mission of Butler Hospital.”
Union members and the hospital agreed to and ratified a new four-year contract on August 19.
This was the conclusion of a months-long strike by the union members.
