Englewood and Tenafly residents should call NJ Fish and Wildlife's hotline at 877-927-6337 if they spot a deer tangled in Christmas lights.

New Jersey has had a number of strange animal encounters from bears that walk like humans, to escaped cattle and non-native reptiles on the loose.

In Englewood and Tenafly, residents are currently being asked to keep an eye out for a white-tailed deer that has gotten its antlers tangled in what appears to be a strand of Christmas lights. While this situation is not common, Englewood Health Officer James Fedorko said that it has happened before when deer have gotten caught in clotheslines or other similar materials.
