Two men who allegedly fled following an incident in south Manchester were arrested as they tried to check into a hotel at Manchester Airport .

The men, aged 23 and 28, were said to have been involved in the unspecified incident in Longsight .

They then 'made off from the scene where they attempted to evade police booking into the hotel" Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in a post on their social media page for Manchester Airport.

No further details about the incident in Longsight have yet been disclosed.

The pair were detained as they entered the reception of the unnamed four-star hotel 'in the dead of night' overnight.
